Churchinford Preschool
Our Staff
We have a number of members of staff at the preschool; Andrea Gibbs, Helen Retter, Gemma and Liz are responsible for the day to day care of the children and running of the Preschool. Our very capable committee oversees the administration and overall management of the Preschool.
Andrea
Having worked at the pre-school for many years, Andrea is well qualified to help your child thrive within the pre-school environment.
Andrea lives locally on the Blackdown Hills with her husband, two daughters and dog. Andrea loves exploring and going for walks.
At Preschool she engages the children in lots of fun and creative activities, her focus is on the children learning through exploring and enjoying themselves.
Andrea has completed her NVQ level 2 & 3 in Child Protection, has been first aid trained and has attended many more relevant courses.
Helen
Helen joined the preschool in 2018 having spent the previous 21 years working as a primary school teacher.
Helen has enjoyed the opportunity of working with a younger age phase and is enthusiastic about providing an enjoyable learning experience for the children during their pre-school years.
Helen’s qualifications include: QTS with special reference to 3-8 years, Paediatric First Aid training and Designated Safeguard Lead.
Helen lives in a neighbouring village and enjoys family time spent with her husband and 2 daughters. Her hobbies include creative activities, gardening and travelling.
Liz
Liz is our preschool SENCO.
Liz holds an NVQ level 2 in Early Years Care and Education and Paediatric First Aid certificate. She also has undertaken SENCO training and has experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
Liz enjoys all things arts and crafts and can often be found in our art area at preschool.
Gemma
Gemma works in the preschool on days when an extra pair of hands is needed or when cover is required. She holds an NVQ level 2 in Early Years Education.
The Committee
Our pre-school is run by a committee of mainly parents, who manage finance, administration and fundraising. The Committee are appointed each school year at our AGM.
Details of the current committee are available on request from the pre-school. We always welcome new members to the committee and encourage parents and families to get involved as much as possible.
Meetings are held a minimum of termly.
