About Us
Based in the rural village of Churchinford, we are a small, fun and friendly Preschool. The village is situated in the heart of The Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Somerset.
We take pride in being able to offer each child the individual time and attention they need. We love the outdoors and enjoy growing our own fruit and vegetables in our fantastic garden. We also have toys and books galore and love to sing, dance and dress up!
The pre-school was rated Good by OFSTED in February 2023. The inspector stated:
'Children thrive in this small pre-school with dedicated and caring staff who meet their needs well. The manager and her team are passionate about providing a safe and stimulating environment for children to support their learning across all areas of the curriculum. They intend that every child, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, has the best possible start in life. Children make good progress from their starting points and are very well prepared for school and later learning.'

We are able to take children from 18 months until they reach statutory school age in a number of different sessions.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, that aims to provide children with a wide range of knowledge and skills to start their education. The key principles of this curriculum are as follows:

Each child has their own personalised development folder which is completed during their time at the pre-school and then accompanies the child when they start school.
